These terms govern your use of this website, the Rosetta Reserve waitlist, and any order you place through this site. By using this site, joining the waitlist, or placing an order, you agree to the terms below.
What this site is
This site describes an ongoing project: an offline, portable knowledge archive built from public-domain and openly-licensed sources, delivered on physical storage media. Joining the waitlist does not obligate you to purchase anything and does not reserve a unit or lock in a price. Pricing shown on the site is informational and updates regularly to track underlying hardware costs; the price you actually pay is the price displayed at checkout at the time you complete an order.
Orders, payment & shipping
Orders are placed and paid for through Stripe's hosted checkout. Rosetta Reserve does not directly collect, see, or store your full payment card details — that's handled entirely by Stripe. Placing an order is an offer to purchase, which we may accept or decline (for example, in cases of suspected fraud or unavailable inventory); you'll be charged only for accepted orders.
Orders currently ship to U.S. addresses only, within two weeks of successful payment. We'll send order and shipping confirmation to the email address you provide at checkout. Risk of loss and title for the physical product pass to you once we hand the order to the shipping carrier.
Returns, refunds & cancellations
All sales are final. We don't offer refunds or exchanges for a change of mind, finding a better price elsewhere, or dissatisfaction with the nature of the archived content itself — review the product description and tier contents carefully before ordering.
The one exception: if your order never ships, or arrives dead-on-arrival, materially defective, or not matching the tier you ordered, contact us within 7 days of delivery (or of the expected ship date, if it never arrives) at the email below, and we'll work with you on a replacement or refund at our discretion.
This policy doesn't limit any right you have to dispute a charge with your card issuer or bank directly — those disputes are handled under your card issuer's own rules, independent of this policy.
No professional advice
Nothing on this site or in the archived content it describes constitutes medical, legal, financial, or emergency-services advice. The archive includes historical and public-domain reference material that may be decades old. In an emergency, contact local emergency services or a qualified professional — do not rely on this site or archived content as a substitute.
What we don't claim
We make no claims — express or implied — that any physical product described on this site is resistant to EMP, blast, water, or any other specific hazard, unless a specific claim is published here backed by test data from an accredited, independent lab. Protecting the physical device is the owner's responsibility.

The archive described on this site draws on public-domain works and openly-licensed projects, including Wikipedia and its sister projects, Project Gutenberg, Survivor Library, Appropedia, Open Source Ecology, and public-domain government publications. Rosetta Reserve is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Wikimedia Foundation, Project Gutenberg, or any other project or trademark holder referenced on this site. Each source's own license or public-domain status governs that specific content; Rosetta Reserve does not claim ownership over material it did not create.
Content and design original to this website and the Rosetta Reserve project — including our name, logo, and original writing — belong to Rosetta Reserve.

This site and the information on it are provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose. We work to keep archived reference material accurate to its original source, but we can't guarantee it's error-free or current.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Rosetta Reserve is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this site, reliance on archived content, or use of any physical product described here.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the project develops. We'll update the date at the top of this page when that happens; continuing to use the site or place orders after a change takes effect means you accept the revised terms.
