Why this exists

Most of what we know how to do — set a broken bone, purify water, repair an engine, grow food without industrial inputs — now lives almost entirely online. That knowledge is one outage, one disaster, or one institutional failure away from being temporarily or permanently out of reach for the people who need it most.

We've built extraordinary systems for storing and retrieving information, but nearly all of them assume the internet, the power grid, and a handful of large institutions will always be there. That assumption doesn't hold everywhere, and it doesn't hold all the time.

Rosetta Reserve takes a different approach: a durable, offline knowledge archive — knowledge preservation technology built independently of any single network or provider, verified and shared in the open, one step at a time.

What we're building

Kept deliberately simple: a compact reader device — a no-internet reference device for browsing and searching the archive.

The archive is designed as an offline survival library, organized around the categories of knowledge people actually need when ordinary channels aren't available: agriculture, medicine, engineering, energy, and construction.

This is an ongoing project rather than a single finished product. The reader device has completed its first version and is now shipping. The archive itself has no fixed endpoint — it will be continuously developed and improved, with new resources and categories added as time goes on.

Right now, what ships is the archive itself on a drive — nothing more. We make no EMP, blast-resistance, or indestructibility claims of any kind, and none are implied. Protecting the physical drive is the customer's responsibility.

Any future durability or shielding claims will only be published once they're backed by test data from accredited, independent labs — not marketing copy, not internal estimates. We'd rather move slower and be accurate than move fast and make promises we haven't earned yet.
